| Description | Game-literate communities are deeply familiar with mechanical loops and the way that actions in a game combine into systems. MMO gamers frequently discuss combat, crafting, and loot systems at incredible levels of detail, and yet, as a community, gaming has not succeeded in transferring that systems understanding to a meaningful critique and intervention in the systems of the world around us. Erin will discuss the unique leverage that video games have to break a system that is currently swallowing the US: a growing and self-reinforcing system of ignorance. |
