Description | WordFlower: A New Spin on Deductive Word Puzzles
WordFlower, a word guessing game by Jeremy Bond, based on deductive guessing games like Wordle, Mastermind, and the classic Bulls and Cows, where the player guesses a five-letter word and receives clues based on how close their guess was to a target word (including whether each letter was in the word and whether it was in the correct place in the word). WordFlower takes this type of deductive word guessing further by presenting a puzzle of six 5-letter words that all share the same 15 letter tiles (e.g., Scrabble tiles). Once a player has solved all of the words in which any letter tile appears, that tile darkens to tell the player that it is not needed for any more words. These design choices work in combination to present the player with more interesting choices from the beginning and more ways to deduce words as they play. |
