DescriptionFor Aristotle, theoretical wisdom, leisure and happiness constituted the three goals of human life. Today, video games are part of leisure activities and their study has sparkly grown in the past decade. Simultaneously research on well-being constantly increased and is now mingled with game studies. In fact, at ancient times leisure was envisioned as a condition for the two other goals - theoretical wisdom and happiness - to be achieved.

This paper supports the argument that video gaming is a tool for well-being. Indeed, this work argues that playing The Sims® (Maxis 2000-2014) enhances self-development as a road to well-being.
