Session | Conference Reception, Game Exhibition, and Poster Session |
Time | Thursday, October 20, 7:00p-10:00p |
Location | MSU Union Ballroom |
Format | Poster Presentation |
Description | This interactive poster (i.e., I’ll have the game on a digital device for participants to play) will describe how a novice to game design pushed theory about what makes a good game. The game in question was developed in Twine and featured very little player agency, which ironically served to give players a richer experience. That a novice could create something deeply personal that butted against conventional game design guidelines highlights the importance of opening game design up to as broad an audience as possible. |
